Before you "add to cart", you might have a few questions - totally get it! I've answered the most common ones below, but if something's still on your mind, pop over into my inbox. I'm always happy to help you feel confident before ordering!

ORDERING + CUSTOMIZATION

Are your signs made from a template?

Nope! Every word is completely freehanded in my own handwriting style. I don’t use fonts or templates, which means each piece is uniquely yours.

Can I see a mock-up before ordering?

Because each sign is handmade and freehanded, I don’t offer digital mockups. But you can browse my photos to get a feel for my style! I have an entire highlight featuring examples of names over on Instagram.

Do you only make names?

Not at all! I make names, phrases, nicknames, affirmations, and even special sayings for playrooms and nurseries.

Please note: I'm unable to create trademarked or copyrighted names, characters or phrases, but I'm always happy to help you come up with something just as special. :)

What if I spell something wrong when ordering?

Please double check spelling before ordering! I create exactly what's ordered at checkout.


If you catch something quickly, email me ASAP and I’ll try to adjust it before I begin. Once I’ve started making your sign, I’m not able to make edits.

Can I choose all capital letters?

I don’t offer names in all caps to keep the style consistent and readable. Signs can be made with just first letter capitalized or all lowercase

How do I order a double name?

I consider a double name as "one" name, so you can order it as a single listing. For example, “Lilly Kate” can be ordered as one 9 letter name (vs. a 5 letter name and 4 letter name). It will be created as 2 separate names, but is designed to hang next to each other.

SIZE + STYLING

What size should I order?

All Kid Hooray signs are made in one standard size. The overall length will vary depending on how many letters are in the name or phrase - shorter names will naturally be a bit shorter and longer names will stretch out more.

How tall are the letters?

Letter height varies slightly since each sign is freehanded, but as a general guide:

  • Tall letters are about 4.5 inches high
  • Small letters are about 2.25 inches high

Letter guide:

  • Tall letters include: b, d, f, g, h, j, k, l, p, q, t, y
  • Small letters include: a, c, e, i, m, n, o, r, s, u, v, w, x, z

All capital letters are approximately 4.5 inches tall.

Can I request a special design for a specific letter?

I’m not able to make custom changes to individual letters (like dotting the “i” a certain way or adding/removing loops). Each sign is made with my best artistic judgment to make it look just right, and keeping the design consistent helps every sign feel cohesive to the Kid Hooray brand.

How do I hang my sign?

Signs can be hung with:

  • two small nails (place in the first and last letter for best support)
  • thumbtacks
  • adhesive hooks.

Please avoid tape, Velcro or anything sticky as it can damage the yarn.

Are they heavy?

No! They’re lightweight but sturdy - perfect for walls, shelves or peg rails.

TURNAROUND + SHIPPING

How long will it take to receive my sign?

The typically turn around time is about 2 weeks before shipping. Each sign is handmade to order and I truly appreciate your patience!

During busy seasons, it may extend based on the order volume. For the most current turnaround time, check the banner at the top of my website or my Instagram (@kidhooray) bio.

Please note turn around time does NOT include shipping time. First class mail typically takes 2-5 days for delivery. Mail upgrades are available at checkout.

Do you offer rush orders?

Depending on my current queue, I may be able to accommodate a rush. Send me an email (hello@kidhooray.com) with all the details before ordering!

Where do you ship?

Currently, we are shipping within the US, Canada and Australia. We are hoping to expand our list this year so be sure to follow us on Instagram (@kidhooray) and sign up for our email list to stay up to date!

What if my package is delayed or lost?

Once your package leaves my hands, it’s in the care of USPS. Luckily (*knock on wood*), I haven’t had many issues!

If your package seems stuck at a location, signing up for text or email alerts can sometimes help nudge it along. I can only see the same updates you see with the tracking number, but I’ll do my best to help however I can!

RETURNS + POLICIES

Do you accept returns?

Because each piece is custom made, I don’t accept returns or exchanges. However, if there’s an issue with your order, please reach out!

Do you offer refunds?

Because every sign is custom-made just for you, I’m unable to offer refunds. Each piece is made from one continuous piece of wire with yarn sewn on, so it can’t be altered once it’s created. Please double-check spelling and color selection before placing your order!
