Hey! I’m Kara, the owner and maker behind Kid Hooray and a mom of 4 in Pittsburgh, PA.

It started in 2021 with a name sign I made for my daughter’s nursery. I wanted her room to feel colorful, playful, and personal. I opened an Etsy shop while my third baby was still a newborn and started making signs during naps and after bedtime and as they say, the rest was history!

That first sign still guides what I make today. I love a fun color combination and a little whimsy, and I think kids’ rooms should feel like the kids who live in them!! Pieces can be playful and full of personality while still fitting into a home you love. Whimsical enough for childhood, timeless enough for your home.

Every knitted wire name is freehanded in steel using my own handwriting, then covered in knitted cotton cord and finished by hand. No fonts or letter templates! From shaping the letters to sewing the ends and wrapping your order, there’s a lot of hands-on work in each little piece.

Names are where it began, but these days you’ll also find colorful shapes, words for your walls, and personalized ornaments for the holidays.
